John Paciga – ‘No One Else’

We’ve been talking about John Paciga for years now and yet, somehow, this musical supernova is still only 19. Now at Yale, where he’s the musical director of that University’s century-old a cappella group, ‘The Yale Spizzwinks(?)’, he’s honed his voice and performance skills and has also managed to write new music, including his latest release, ‘No One Else’, straight off the back of a summer tour.

Paciga was in the middle of a creative burst of energy which saw him not only write half his new album in just a few weeks, but also pen a love song, that’s not a mere tear-jerker about heartbreak, but rather a song about times being just good – don’t the good times deserve love songs too?

His upcoming album, ‘Still Got Me’, needed a duet, and so vocals were provided by the incredible Lexi Pappas, and production was co-produced by John and fellow New Jersey native, Kyle Frey’. ‘One One Else’ could easily be a Broadway tune, given it’s chock-full with catchy hooks, crunchy guitar, and incredible lyrics that will make you want to fall in love, or hug the one you’re with just that little bit tighter.

The accompanying music video sees Paciga both starring and directing, with filming and editing by Joey Perez. We see John oversleep on the morning of a big show, but thankfully Lexi is several steps ahead and gets him up and out the door with one phone call. He’s caught up in Jersey’s notorious traffic, but as Lexi anxiously waits for him to arrive at the theatre, the clock ticking away, we cut back to the pair of them in a rehearsal space, performing with both high emotion and clearly genuine elation.
