B*Witched Resurrected In Time For Hallowe’en With New Track, ‘Hold On’

Just in time for Hallowe’en, our favourite witchy girl band have resurrected once again to treat us to another piece of 90s nostalgia. That’s right, B*Witched are back, this time with a poignant and heartfelt cover of the Wilson Phillips smash hit song, ‘Hold On’.

A time of 90s nostalgia is upon us; in the world of fashion and, now, music. Following on from their massive success as part of reality show ‘The Big Reunion’, and just in time for Hallowe’en, our favourite four Irish lasses are back with a bona fide rendition of the Wilson Phillips smash hit song, ‘Hold On’. We are all guilty of wearing masks whether that be to the world or to ourselves but, ultimately, the freedom of being true to yourself is life’s goal – and that is the message which this band aims to put across on this latest release.

For those of you who need a reminder, B*Witched are twin sisters Edele and Keavy Lynch, Lindsay Armaou, and Sinead O’Carroll.  Originally formed in 1997, the band had huge global success selling over 3 million albums worldwide and notching up four No. 1 UK hits with their first four singles, ‘C’est la Vie’, ‘Rollercoaster’, ‘To You I Belong’ and ‘Blame It On The Weatherman’. But heartbreaking shock hit the nation when the band’s label dropped them suddenly in the height of their success.

Now, still basking in the limelight in the wake of their unprecedented ‘Big Reunion’ success, B*Witched have spent the last few years travelling the world, performing in various countries and promoting their critically acclaimed ‘EP, Champagne or Guinness’. It was a universal hit, with critics and fans alike commending the girls’ songwriting talents (showcased on every one of the 6 songs) and their production as well – also uniquely done by the girls themselves.

Now back with a new single for the first time in 5 years, ‘Hold On’ brings with it the pop positivity which has been seriously lacking in our lives since we last heard from the girls. Singer Sinead says,

“We love the empowerment we get when we perform this song live… and how uplifting the universal anthem ‘Hold On’ can be. It’s definitely a moment when we feel we are all in sync with the crowd and fans.”

It’s clear that to uplift their fans and the dedicated crowds who come to see them play is a job which these girls take very seriously. The video, which sets the song to a beautifully romantic storyline of star-crossed lovers, culminates in the message from the band to “B* Brave, B* You, B* Loved. Love from, B* Witched.” These girls are on a mission to spread the love this Hallowe’en, with an overarching message that life is best when you can be true to yourself.

Watch the video down below to welcome these Irish lasses back into our lives – we’ve missed you!
