Scoville Unit – ‘Beach Song’ And ‘Sidewalk’

If the weather has you thinking about hitting the sand, then Scoville Unit have got you covered with two new singles, ‘Beach Song’, and ‘Sidewalk’.

Although they have roots in Philadelphia and New York, Scoville Unit feel more at home in the surf, and it shows. ‘Beach Song’ is more than just a summer song however – written by Gandhar Savur, got that clear influence of tight, crunchy, ’60s-influenced pop-rock – the sort that bands like the Smithereens used to make.

The track comes with a music video directed by Troy Carlton, which shows the group looking as natural as can be, with the Atlantic behind them. Incidentally, the footage of actress Eimanne Zein surfing, was shot in LA, with that of the band filmed in Sandy Hook, New Jersey.

‘Sidewalk’ comes with a skateboard themed clip, and again, makes use of the talents of Troy Carlton. The clip once again seems to flash between New Jersey and LA – the skateboarding scenes under the unmistakeable California blue skies, while the scenes with the band, and some external shots, are back in Jersey. It’s a 60s flavoured feel good track that will make you…feel good, and is perfect as the lead single from Scoville Unit.
