Sarah Sunday – ‘Mental Zoo’

You may not have heard of Sarah Sunday but pretty soon she’ll be a name you’ll never forget. Her latest single, ‘Mental Zoo’, has more than a touch of Avril Lavigne to it, and this should come as no surprise, as Sarah counts the Canadian songstress as among her influences, which also include such legends as Debbie Harry, and other iconic female vocalists.

Sarah Sunday’s style is unapologetically pop punk, with a slightly rocky edge; it’s loud and raucous and positive – she is certainly set to become a female role model herself, if this song, ‘Mental Zoo’, is anything to go by.

Following the success of her first single, ‘Come And Find Me’, Sarah Sunday leaps into an 80s style rhythm, that not only calls to mind the afore-mentioned Ms Lavigne, but also 80s pop princesses such as Debbie Gibson and Tiffany.

‘Mental Zoo’ is accompanied by a music video as bright and vibrant as the singer herself, capitalising on the vocal hooks and synthy vibes. The video has so far garnered close to 14,000 views on YouTube alone, since its release back in May.
