Jaguar Dreams – Mean Somethin (Boys Get Hurt Remix)

In recent weeks Jaguar Dreams have been dropping remixes of tracks from their self-titled EP. The latest in the series is a mix of their song, ‘Mean Somethin’ done by Tokyo-based producer, Boys Get Hurt.

Speaking of the remix, Jaguar Dreams said,

When we set out to find the right producers to remix our EP, we knew we needed to look internationally. Part of our sound is derived from our roots in NYC, that of vast cityscapes and the busybodies that dwell within them. Tokyo shares that spirit and within that city comes an incredible producer. Boys Get Hurt made ‘Mean Somethin’ into a summertime vibe in the only way he could.

The Boys Get Hurt remix takes the already retro sound of ‘Mean Somethin’ and transforms it into an absolute rave of a dance track. The pounding metronomic beat, added echoey vocals, the underpinning synthy instrumentals, coupled with the slightly sped up track seem like tiny changes on the face of it, but they transform the track immeasurably.
