P!NK RELEASES 8th STUDIO ALBUM HURTS 2B HUMAN TODAY VIA RCA RECORDS

P!NK’s new album, ‘HURTS 2B HUMAN’ is out today via RCA Records.

The 13 track album features guest vocals from Cash Cash, Chris Stapleton, Khalid, and Wrabel, with co-writes and productions from Max Martin, Shellback, Julia Michaels, Nate Ruess, Greg Kurstin, Teddy Geiger, Sasha Sloan, Beck, Ryan Tedder, Sia among others.

As with P!NK’s other albums, there’s the soaring vocals and strong messages – such as ‘Walk Me Home’ with its talk of taking refuge from the horrible things going on outside – it could be easily dismissed as a girl-power album; but there’s a lot more than that on this record. For one thing, it’s not all just power pop. The afore-mentioned ‘Walk Me Home’ is a country-flavoured anthem; album opener, ‘Hustle’, is swagger and jazz; while ‘My Attic’ is laid back and introspective. Other tracks, such as ’90 Days (ft Wrabel)’, and the title track, which she sings with Khaled, are P!NK as we have come to know her. But as she says in the lyrics to ‘Can We Pretend’ (with Cash Cash), “can we pretend that we’re 22 today” – P!NK is no longer the young thing she was when she first started out. She’s got life experience, a family, even a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame – and her new album reflects this.

‘HURTS 2B HUMAN’ runs the gamut of musical styles, from EDM to rap; rock to pop; country and jazz. Ballads and rock anthems, sobering introspective lyrics, such as in ‘Happy’; fun, almost flippant tracks, but with an underlying message, such as ‘Hustle’. There’s something for everyone and for every occasion, whether it be shouting out the lyrics while driving in your car, or just chilling at home with a glass of wine, or whatever you fancy.

P!NK is currently on her Beautiful Trauma World Tour. Get tickets and further information on her official website.
