Jean-Michel Jarre Releases ‘EQUINOXE INFINITY’ Remix EP With Mixes By Tale Of Us, Jonas Rathsman And Perturbator

After the triumphant release of ‘EQUINOXE INFINITY’, the 40 year sequel to his legendary album, ‘EQUINOXE’, Jean-Michel Jarre has returned with a remix EP, which highlights three tracks from the album, and transforms them into instant club classics. There is also a special 12″ exclusive edition available tomorrow, April 13, for Record Store Day.

‘EQUINOXE INFINITY’ was released last November, and blends classical sounds with Jarre’s signature synth melodies, which makes him the perfect match for remixing from Italian techno duo, Tale Of Us. The pair take on ‘If The Wind Could Speak’, turning the 90 second interlude into a dance floor banger, with the addition of symphonic swells and mesmerising melodies. Tale Of Us have seen great support from DJs such as Adriatique, Richie Hawtin, and Carl Craig, and their remix is bound to become a smash dance floor hit this year.

Swedish House artist Jonas Rathsman also steps up to the bat with his spacious yet restrained remix of ‘Don’t Look Back’. His treatment of the track highlights the exisiting tension and mood of Jarre’s composition, while folding its drama into well-timed chord stabs, and the sort of careful pacing which makes it a triple threat: the perfect choice for opening sets, a breather during peak time, and a spectacular set-ender.

Last but certainly not least, French synth artist, and former black metal musician, Perturbator, delivers a massive remix of ‘All That You Leave Behind’, taking Jarre’s textures and rubbing them raw, creating a tougher, grittier, even punkier version of the original.

The remix EP certainly has something for every dance floor, and once again shows that Jarre’s music is able to connect with just about any generation, on every level.

‘Equinox Infinity Remix EP’ is out today on digital media through Sony Music and available here. The 12″ Record Store Day exclusive is limited to 1300 copies, and is only available tomorrow, Record Store Day, 13 April. See here for where to find your local participating Record Store.
