80’s Legends, Wang Chung Release Video for Rework of Hit Single ‘Dance Hall Days’ And Start Campaign for ‘Wang Chung’ to be Added To Dictionary

Wang Chung are one of the defining bands of 80s. Conquering the UK, US, and global charts, they now return with original members, Jack Hues and Nick Feldman, with a rework of hit single ‘Dance Hall Days’, ahead of their new album, ‘Orchesography’.

Their name has almost uniquely passed into popular culture, becoming a staple of movie, TV, game soundtracks, and advertisements over the years. Indeed, the line “Everybody Wang Chung Tonight”, from their smash hit, ‘Everybody Have Fun Tonight’, has developed a life of its own, and it’s because of this that the band themselves now appeal to their fans around the world, to have it officially recognised in dictionaries as a verb:

Their upcoming new album, ‘Orchesography’, set for release on May 10, is an orchestra-boosted version of their best-known tracks, featuring the first single, ‘Dance Hall Days’, as well as ‘Everybody Have Fun Tonight’, and ‘Let’s Go’. As well as satiating the appetite for their legion of fans from back in the day, they are also introducing themselves to a brand-new audience who will have heard them featured across popular culture, from their breakout soundtrack to legendary The Exorcist/French Connection director, William Friedkin’s ‘To Live & Die In LA’, to ‘The Breakfast Club’, ‘Sex and the City’, ‘Grand Theft Auto: Vice City’; ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘South Park’ to Rick Grimes’ first and final scenes in ‘Walking Dead’.

A band which have always looked forwards and well as back, Wang Chung have re-recorded some of their iconic tracks, combining their electro-pop, new wave sounds with the full backing of the City of Prague Orchestra. Their combined efforts bring new life to some of their classic tracks, including ‘Dance Hall Days’; ‘Everybody Have Fun Tonight’; ‘Let’s Go’ and ‘Space Junk’. For over 35 years, Wang Chung have enjoyed success around the world, with America, Canada, Australia and the UK in particular taking them to their hearts, with six top 40 hits, including a number one hit. Featuring tracks taken from across their six albums, ‘Orchesography’ is an exciting opportunity to acquaint yourselves in a new way with a band who have broken through into popular culture like few before.

After a twenty-year break, Wang Chung reformed in 2010 and have successfully toured the world ever since, as well as delivering the critically-acclaimed album of new material, ‘Tazer Up’, in 2012. ‘Dance Hall Days’ is prime Wang Chung, a track which has found itself as not only a huge international hit but also cementing itself across TV, film and video games up to the present day. Featuring in films such as ‘Bachelor Party’, ‘The Fighter’, ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Bumblebee’; TV shows including ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘Mr Robot’, ‘Saturday Night Live’, and ‘Glee’, not to mention to console phenomenon, ‘Grand Theft Auto’, ‘Dance Hall Days’ sounds as fresh today with its new make-over as it ever has.

Find Wang Chung online on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and their official website. ‘Dance Hall Days’ is available to stream and download from SoundCloud, iTunes, and Spotify. ‘Orchesography’ is set for release on 10 May.
