My Silent Bravery (ft Maurico) – ‘Holding Out’

We’ve been championing My Silent Bravery for a number of years now, as he tells his story with heartfelt courage. Now, he’s back, with his latest video, ‘Holding Out’, which features Nashville rapper, Maurico.

My Silent Bravery, real name Matthew Wade, has been one of our most featured artists here at EP, having written about him on no fewer than five previous occasions. His latest track however, ‘Holding Out’, is perhaps the most ambitious, with MSB veering away from his usual alt-rock/pop style, and mixing it up a bit – with the help of rapper Mauricio.

‘Holding Out’ is the first single from My Silent Bravery’s forthcoming album, ‘Holding Out For Hope’, and features rapping verses from Maurico, interwoven with sung vocals from Wade. The accompanying video shows Maurico spitting out his lines, while Wade stands in a boxing ring, getting ready to fight – not against each other, nor even against another person – the fights are within. Speaking about ‘Holding Out’, Wade said,

The song to me is about HOPE! Never giving up. Being strong. Good things are going to happen when you keep fighting for what you want. Great things take time. Hope is stronger than fear. Don’t worry have faith that it will all work out and it will just not maybe as you had planned it.
