John Tracy – ‘Love True Just For You’

We’ve followed John Tracy’s career for a few years now, and he first came to our attention with his single, ‘Midnight Moon’, in July 2017, then ‘Silent Night’ that October, and ‘Home’ last year. Now he’s back with his latest track, ‘Love True Just For You’, a hearfelt love song, which comes with a beautiful music video.

The Richmond Virginia singer songwriter has over his career developed an aesthetic which is evident through all his music, the songs he writes, and the videos he makes. There’s an optimism that transcends everything he does, and this is no less apparent in his most recent release.

‘Love True Just For You’ was inspired by John’s daughter, and the obstacles she’s encountered in her own search for love. The video was shot in Midtown Manhattan, a location which epitomises anonymity combined with romance.

The main character stumbles her way through romantic encounters, and we watch her persevering as things get tough; but we’re encouraged to cheer for her all the way through to her happy ending. It’s a roller coaster ride of a clip, but it’s all good in the end.

We see John Tracy himself standing on the Brooklyn Bridge, playing his acoustic guitar and singing his words of hope to the lovers everywhere in the world. Tracy is the narrator, imparting his worldly wisdom to all those who are willing to listen.
