Dido Releases New Track ‘Friends’ Ahead Of New Album ‘Still On My Mind’ Set For Release March 8th

After announcing her first live shows in 15 years and her first new record in 5 years, the stunning ‘Still On My Mind’ out March 8th on BMG, Dido releases new song ‘Friends’ which is available as an Instant Grat everywhere now.

‘Still On My Mind’ is Dido’s 5th studio album and was written and recorded in England, a result of the fruitful and incredibly natural production/songwriting partnership with her long term collaborator and brother (faithless founder) Rollo.

One of the many highlights from the album, ‘Friends’, gets straight to the point.

“There’s been many people in the past who have said ‘you can’t do this’ and ‘you’re not good enough,” Dido says. “But when everyone’s back is turned I’ll get on with doing what I am going to do and then see how we all feel at the end of it. So part of it is ‘well, look at me now, I’ve done fine’. Success is the best revenge.”

The multi-million selling singer goes on a world tour throughout 2019 which includes the following UK and Irish dates with tickets on sale NOW:

May 2019:
Sun 26th Glasgow, Royal Concert Hall SOLD OUT
Mon 27th Dublin, Olympia Theatre SOLD OUT
Wed 29th Manchester, Albert Hall SOLD OUT

With sales of more than 40 million albums worldwide, Dido is one of the best- selling UK artists ever. Both ‘No Angel’ and its 2003 follow-up, ‘Life For Rent’, still rank among the UK’s biggest-selling albums of all-time.

About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
