Miami native Trina has been an iconic rapper for twenty years, and has done this by always seeking out innovative and creative ways to promote her career, setting herself apart from other female lyricists. Her latest track, ‘I Just Wanna’, featuring City Girls and Arie, marks for her fans the beginning of an entirely new Trina era.
With her career starting before many modern day rappers were even born, Trina has been able to found her own record label imprint, Rockstarr Music Group. She’s featured on Trick Daddy’s ‘NANN’, and released her debut album, ‘Da Baddest Bixxh’, back in 2000, which she followed up with ‘Diamond Princess’ in 2002, ‘Glamorest Life’, in 2005, and ‘Still The Baddest’ in 2008. ‘AMAZIN’ hit the Number 1 spot on the Billboard Independent Albums chart back in 2010, as well as reaching Number 2 on Billboard’s Top Rap Album charts, and making it into the Billboard 200 charts at an impressive #13 position. Trina has released 2 EP projects, and 14 mixtapes, and has appeared on LogoTV, MTV2, VH1, MTV, BET, The Monique Show and CNN’s ‘Nitecap’. Now she’s joined forces with Grammy award winning producer, Rico Love, in order to create her sixth album, ‘The One’, a tribute to her diehard fans.
Doing what she’s always done throughout her career, Trina has teamed up with up and coming female rappers, City Girls and Arie, for her latest music video, ‘I Just Wanna’. It’s the dawn of a new age for Trina – the clip is all bubblegum colours and lollipops. The bass is still fierce, and and the flow is free, as Trina raps surrounded by a brightly coloured background and hair to match.
