Sean Darin ft Kállay Saunders – ‘California’

Sean Darin, from Budapest, Hungary, teams up with Hungarian-American singer songwriter Kállay Saunders on the track, ‘California’. Darin is a producer who has experimented with electronica and progressive house, he’s released songs on the labels of both Armin van Buuren and Avicii, while Saunders is no stranger to the Hungarian charts, and represented the country in the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, in 2014.

Through his beats and sound production, Darin conveys subconscious emotion, and is able to show both light and dark sides. He is a relative newcomer to producing, starting back in 2013. He took part in various competitions in order to gain press, which found him making important connections. His track, ‘Don’t U Mind’, released in 2014, saw him chart in Italy, while the following year he produced the ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ project, from which his single, ‘Sit And Wait’, has garnered to date 9 million Spotify plays. His song ‘Bad Luck’ was nominated in 2016 for that year’s Video Music Review, and his remixes, including work for some of the best known Hungarian artists, became some of the most played songs of the year.

Now Sean Darin has released ‘California’, which takes us on a journey through his mind, while he processes all that he’s done over the past few years. The video opens with a shot of the ocean, and the waves crashing in on each other. Directed and storyboarded by Sean, it shows the beauty of California – specifically Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Malibu, in a realistic way without any of the fakeness or artificiality. It’s a beautiful clip, and for those of us who love the Golden State, it causes pangs of longing.
