Fieldcrest – ‘Empty’

Fieldcrest’s Will and Jena follow up April’s ‘Just Breathe’ with their latest single, ‘Empty’, ahead of their new album, ‘Canvas’.

Fieldcrest, comprising Will Thacker and Jena Jones, came together when Will was looking to find a vocalist for a project he had in mind. He made no real connection with the hundreds of responses, until Jena replied, in response to an ad he’d placed in Wyoming. Lyricist and vocalist Jena had a similar dream to Will, and following a series of emails eventually produced ‘Meadowlark’, which they released in April this year. ‘Canvas’, is their first album, and is set to come out on September 14.

‘Empty’ has more than just a hint of The Cranberries about it. The alt rock guitars and and Jena’s ethereal vocals lift the listener and transports them to a distant shore. Will’s guitar is strident and powerful, conveying emotions almost as strong as Jena’s vocals.

‘Empty’ is out August 20 and will be able to stream and download from Spotify and iTunes.
