Album Review: Armonite – ‘And The Stars Above’ by Jamie Alberto

I’ve just completed my journey through outer space while trapped inside an eclectic video game. I’m not an astronaut, nor am I video game savvy, however I’ve just listened to ‘And The Stars Above’ by classically trained musical duo Armonite, and it had the same effect.

The musical compositions and instrumental talents of the Italian duo, Paolo Fosso and Jacopo Bigi, are tantalizing and insanely flawless. The album is exciting, packed with an energetic spirit that is not of this planet. The accompanying videos, ‘Insert Coin’, a video extravaganza, ‘Suitcase War’, a musical cavalcade of seduction, and ‘Le temps qui fait ta rose’, an artistic mirage, are all instantly compelling.

One begins listening to the release and then is magically taken to a different realm of the universe where there is no escape. Composer Paolo Fosso is more than a genius. He is musically irresistible. He and violinist Bigi are serious musicians who took a chance together a created madness in the best possible way. While in college they formed the original Armonite band, released an album and then went their separate ways. In 2015 they reformed the band, still calling it Armonite and the rest is history as they write further chapters.

The duo has also published videos of several soundtrack renditions from the most popular video games and movies including: ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, ‘Harry Potter’, ‘The Exorcist’, ‘Halo’, ‘Metal Gear Solid’, and ‘Final Fantasy’. They have performed at Expo 2015 Milano for ‘The Water Rooms’, as well as performing in Switzerland at an elevation of 6500 feet.

It doesn’t really matter what type of music you most like, ‘And The Stars Above’ will capture everyone who listens to it. It mesmerizes the very soul, and enchants the heart.
