Navakaine – ‘Skyliner’

Navakaine, with her name a reference to the pain killing drug, is soon to be everyone’s new addiction. The singer who grew up in Indonesia but is now based in New York City, after moving to Seattle in 2016 to start her music career, has released her debut single, ‘Skyline’.

Eighteen year old Navakaine takes her inspiration from Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey. Lorde, and The Weeknd, and has crafted for herself a signature sound blending indie and pop. Her debut album, ‘After Summer’, is planned for release in 2019, and serves as a testimony about her life, and coming to terms with adulthood.

The music video for ‘Skyliner’ opens with Navakaine in a car crash with her lover. We watch her evolution, she experiences peace in her solitude; she becomes aware that her life means so much more than she had realised, and as she looks over the city she sees that trials and tribulations had been obscuring her view.
