Bhat Junaid – ‘Kid in Love’

Bhat Juanid is a singer songwriter born in a village called Karapora, in Kashmir. He started in rap music in 2010 when he was just 14 years old, copying the lyrical style of artists such as 50 Cent, Eminem, and Tupac Shakur. He started writing his own lyrics a few years later, aged 17, branching out into singing them himself in 2016. Now in his early 20s, the artist whose friends call him Juni, has moved into pop music, as well as making his own beats. ‘Kid In Love’ is from the intriguingly dual-titled ‘Falcon/Kid In Love’, released this year.

‘Kid In Love’ enlists some of the traditional sounds of Juni’s homeland and mixes it with more conventional dance music sounds. It’s an unusual mix but combined with Juni’s light vocals it works well. There’s some nice effects such as the soaring whoosh sound, and the lyrics of the track convey perfectly the first few weeks of being in love.
