Sweet Sweet – ‘Roam’

South Carolina natives Sweet Sweet are duo Jeremy Dunham and Kerrine Gifford, whose feel good single ‘Roam’ is their latest release.

Sweet Sweet came together in 2014 and the pair have struck gold in combining Dunham’s singer/songwriting expertise with Gifford’s skill as a classically trained cellist. They released their ‘In Tandem’ EP in 2016, which garnered them acclaim in the nomination for “Folk Album Of The Year” at the IMEA Awards. ‘Roam’ is the follow up to their roots-inspired folk track, ‘In The Stars’, and is accompanied by a video with a vintage vibe.

Opening with a classic VW bus (and the super cute number plate, ‘SWT SWT’), we follow the pair as hit the road, stopping along the way to perform concerts, and catch up with family, friends, and fans. Shot like an old film reel, the clip is as warm and comfortable as a favourite old sweater, and works perfectly with the track – a tale of how they set off on tour with “a cello and an axe and a bag of melodies”.

In short it’s a great song with an equally great video, and is guaranteed to make you smile at the very least. “Wherever I roam I hang my hat and call that place my home”. This band are happy wherever they are – wherever they are together, that’s their home.
