Punchline – ‘Friend From The Future’

Punchine, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, are one of the most musically inventive pop-punk bands in America, and over their twenty year history they’ve kept their fans on their toes with their high energy and attitude, as well as accomplished songwriters. Their new song, ‘Friend From The Future’, comes their latest album ‘Lion’.

‘Friend From The Future’ is the lead single from the album, and is an uplifting and optimistic statement of purpose, The song is straightforward and subtle, with clever backing vocals, high harmonies, and great breakdowns and buildups.

The video for ‘Friend From The Future’ captures Punchline in performance, and makes use of colourful washes, bright frames and patterned backdrops. With split screen, as well as shifts in and out of focus, there’s messages posted on screen, either lyrics, or advice from the band. Bright and bold, it’s a four minute ride that you’ll want to watch over and over.

Punchline will be touring the eastern US with The Spill Canvas over the summer. You can find more information from their official website.
