Bone Nest – ‘Bone Nest’

San Francisco based musical artist and songwriter Bone Nest blends rhythm and verses over layers of soul.

The recording artist and producer has a distinctive sound with an experimental feel, seamlessly merging different genres including electronic music, breakbeat, neo-soul, hip-hop, R&B, new wave, and D&B. There’s a distinct funkiness in his tracks as well, particularly in pieces like ‘HiLikeMe’, which feels as though it would be equally at home on the soundtrack of an old time Commodore 64 game, as much as on the dance floor, where it would be the slow down last track of the evening.

Bone Nest’s track, ‘Fkbyzantm‘, opens with a bit of a stoner rhythm, while the vocals have a strong soul vibe, somewhat in opposition to the beat of the instrumentals. To say his music is inventive is putting it mildly – his music borrows heavily from jazz, blues, and funk in ways which we’ve not heard combined before.
