The Hills and the Rivers – ‘The Fool’

Blood runs thicker than water in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania collective, The Hills And The Rivers.

Comprising four members of the Hill family, as well as four contributors to the 4th River Music Collective, The Hills And The Rivers have blended together roots, folk, and indie sounds with the common thread of keeping all the instrumentals organic and acoustic. Their latest single, ‘The Fool’, brings them to the world, alongside their authentically branded music video.

The lead single from the band’s upcoming album, ‘The Fool And The Musician’, which is set for release on 18 May. The band’s debut album, ‘The World’, took the Pittsburgh scene by surprise in 2014 with its fresh sound, unlike anything heard before. They recruited buskers from the streets to fill out their lineup, and with their name finally out in the world, they released their sophomore album, ‘Apocalyptic Dreams’ in 2016. From that point they were ready for the road and adapted well to the nomadic life and regular touring.

The Hills And The Rivers have just finished a five week full US tour and are now ready to launch ‘The Fool’ to the world. The single demonstrates perfectly their signature fusion sound: banjos, mandolins, and soaring harmonies flow in and out, while steady percussive beats keep the listeners up and dancing. The music video was shot by fellow 4th River Music Collective artist, The Childlike Empress, and provides a sneak peek into the lives of the band. Their love for the great outdoors, a family bonfire, and dogs bring together a grassroots vibe, as well as a love story which ties it all up nicely.
