Out today is the debut album ‘Crave’, from pop artist Elijah William. The record has been inspired by events in his life before music, as well as the fulfilment felt from the album’s creation.

Crave‘ includes elements of new age trap, pop, and hard rock, and is inspired by anxiety brought on by feelings of being unfulfilled, the death of his best friend, and his stuggles with love. Deeply personal, it was recorded at 4th Street Recording in Santa Monica, California, known for its work with Ke$ha, Muse, Alice Cooper, and Incubus.

Disillusioned by the idea of success he’d been taught at college, Elijah fell into a pattern of laziness. It was only the death of his best friend which forced him to face the reality of how he’d not amount to anything if he continued on that path. Not long after coming to this decision, Elijah was involved in a car accident, due to lack of sleep: he’d been dividing his time between playing in a band, and training to become a professional Mixed Martial Artist, and he’d spread himself too thinly. He decided his focus should be on music, and has spent the past two years studying and perfecting his knowledge of the music business, as well as writing and recording.

Comprising eleven tracks, the album has an experimental feel, and is upbeat, particularly the title track, with instrumentation conveying a feeling of summer, while the lyrics outlining the despair of someone who has come to the realisation that their life must turn be turned around completely in order to make something of it.
