FELIX DUBS Releases New EP ‘MASCHINE DREAMZ’

Birmingham native Felix Dubs will release his latest EP, ‘Maschine Dreamz’ on March 30. The DJ and producer takes his inspiration from the Native Instruments ‘Maschine’ Controller, with his EP a fusion of both hip hop and electronic music.

Felix Dubs started DJing a decade ago, before dipping into the production side of music. He takes his influences from all over the world, as well as a huge range of genres, including hip hop, grime, indie, and jazz, and in ‘Maschine Dreamz’ he incorporates into his music a vas array of contemporary beats.

Describing his sound as “waves”, Dubs says he finds it difficult to pin his style down to just one genre, and has worked with a number of Grime artists, including Merky Ace, and Tre Mission, as well as producers including Mystry, and Faze Miyake, and Dubstep artists like Kromestar.

The five track EP ‘Maschine Dreamz’ reminds the listener of early computer games, with Dubs’ style combining a fast paced yet laid back 808 Grime style. You’re transported back to films such as Tron and Bladerunner, with the swirling feel of the tracks and the disembodied female vocal waving in and out with the repeated words, “Felix (Felix Felix Felix) Dubs (Dubs Dubs Dubs)”.

Felix Dubs has previously released his music through labels including New World Audio, Nebula Music, and Ghosthouse Records, and found support from DJs on radio stations such as BBC 1xtra, BBC Asian Network, Radar Radio, and Rinse FM. Currently Dubs is developing a project based around his inspiration for his EP to promote his new music.
