Wildwood Kin Release New Single ‘Steady My Heart’

Acclaimed indie alt folk band Wildwood Kin released their new single, ‘Steady My Heart’ on January 26, through newly relaunced Sony Music imprint, Silvertone. The track comes form their debut album, ‘Turning Tides’, and the single is a newly recorded version, produced by Tim Rice-Oxley (Keane) and mixed by Dave Bascombe.

Wildwood Kin are known for their luscious harmonies, with sisters Emillie and Beth Key on guitar and bouzouki/keyboards respectively, and their cousin Meghann Loney on drums, all singing and creating a completely intoxicating sound which is entirely their own.

The trio from Exeter, England, have spent most of last year touring the UK, and fresh from their triumph at this year’s Eurosonic Festival, are now set to play a number of UK and more European festivals this summer, before returning to the studio to record their next album.

‘Steady My Heart’ is one of the many album highlights on ‘Turning Tides’ and includes the kind of lovely harmonies that have become their trademark. The band also performed a stripped back version for the revered Mahogany sessions before Christmas.

“Making the album was a huge learning process,” says Emillie. “We had no idea what we were capable of and we constantly surprised ourselves. We went in the studio not knowing where the boundaries were and discovered that, of course, there aren’t any. That’s what we found most exciting.”

Wildwood Kin have already been tipped by the great and the good including Jo Whiley, Mark Radcliffe, Steve Wright, Bob Harris and Jamie Cullum. Their live performance of ‘Steady My Heart ‘ featured on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury last summer and was selected by the BBC as one of their festival highlights.
