Laini And The Wildfire – ‘Wandering’

Do you remember our review of Laini And The Wildfire’s self-titled EP last year? Well we’re excited to tell you they’ve got a full length album out, ‘Wandering’, and was released on 3 November.

Laini’s strong and strident voice bears comparisons to the likes of Adele and Florence Welch, and has more than a touch of 60s soul to it. The 9 track album, opening with the title track, keeps a cracking pace which doesn’t let up, with our highlight the fifth song into the album, ‘Good Night Is Not Goodbye’. the track showcases Laini’s vocals most impressively. The instrumentation is perfect on this track, with the piano (played by Laini herself) taking the lead, and the remaining members, Mark Marenick on on bass, and Rob Siraco on drums, further demonstrating just how talented this group is.

Many of the songs on ‘Wandering’ are about past regrets, future hopes, and the fear of change – Laini took the brave step of leaving her job as a therapist in order to pursue music full time, and we feel it’s a choice well made.

The lead single, ‘Wandering’, was released on 6 October, and comes with a music video, which the band shot with Red 13 Studios, who’ve previously worked with acts such as Godsmack and Tom Brady.

Laini And The Wildfire will have an album release show on December 2 at The Outer Space/The Ballroom, in Hamden, Connecticut. See here for tickets and further information.
