SOiL – ‘Gimme Some Lovin”

Seminal hard rockers SOiL have had plenty of ups and downs in their career since they started in the late 90s. They’ve released six studio albums, tens of millions of Spotify streams, more than 2 million records sold, and endless world tours, alongside the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, and Rod Zombie. In short, Chicago-based SOiL are a true mainstay in the rock world of the 21st century. Their greatest hits album, ‘Scream: The Essentials’ was released on 15 September, and their new single, ‘Gimme Some Lovin”, has created a ton of buzz.

‘Scream: The Essentials’ is out on Pavement Entertainment, and features 20 tracks of SOiL’s best work, including alternative versions of fan favourites, and bonus tracks. ‘Gimme Some Lovin”, a cover of the 1966 Spencer Davis Group original, is the first single off the album. The music video shows live footage of the band’s relentless touring, over the decades, as well as some super energising shots of guest vocalists Lindy Gabriel, of Gabriel and the Apocalypse, and Cristina Feliciano, from Oblivious Signal. There’s also a plot line which includes sexual encounters in a tub, mirrors being broken, and tables flipped. The black and white brings the whole clip together and gives it the SOiL edge it needs.

Find SOiL online on their official website, Twitter, and Facebook. ‘Scream: The Essentials’ is available through SOiL’s iTunes store.
