Peter Currency – ‘Jugg X Juggle’

Brooklyn based hip hop artist Peter Currency marches to the beat of a different drum with the music video for his track, ‘Jugg X Juggle’, which is part of an as yet untitled but soon to be released project.

Peter started writing poetry at a young age, and this blossomed into an interest in music. He doesn’t cite any particular artist as an influence, but he does enjoy the music of Jay Z, Cam’ron, Gucci Mane, 2Pac, Ma$e, AZ, and N.O.R.E.

Currency says his new record is “all about hustling and getting what you want” and that ‘Jugg X Juggle’ is about “making the best of it” and how he’s “juggling now by investing into myself…enough to get by but still maintain my lifestyle and still live.” He’s seen ‘Jugg X Juggle’ receive a lot of love, including airplay on the likes of New York radio station, Power 105.1.

The video for ‘Jugg X Juggle’ was conceived by Peter when he sat down with director Ced Lynch. Filmed in Flatbush, Brooklyn, the pair aimed to bring the best character out of the song and onto the clip. There’s plenty of “vices” shown in the video, which centres around a strip club, and features close-up shots of bottles under neon lights.

The track has an electronic, futuristic vibe to the instrumentation, with Peter’s rhyming understated and, in keeping with his passion, more poetry than straight rap.

You can find out more about Peter Currency online on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. ‘Jugg X Juggle’ is available on iTunes, Google Play, and Spotify.
