MusicByKip – ‘Without U’

MusicByKip (real name Kip Pierce) has been making music for most of his life, including brass instruments in grade school, to choirs in high school and college, to musicals and beyond. The music video is for his track, ‘Without U’, comes from his debut EP, ‘Eclectic’.

Kip’s inspirations include both modern, like Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, and Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, and Journey, to classical artists such as Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, and Brahms.

‘It’s Eclectic’, released worldwide on May 19 this year, was recorded at three studios in LA, including the world-famous Village Studios, in West Los Angeles, renowned for producing Aerosmith, the Allman Brothers, the Beach Boys, and Mariah Carey, among others.

‘Without U’ is a romantic ballad, with a touch of classic country. Filmed in Los Angeles, the video starts with Kip walking along the beach with his love, played by Delane Tarra. They go to a candle-lit room, where they dance. He gives her a shawl, which she puts on – and suddenly she is transported to another galaxy. Kip remembers their special moments, feeling “lonely without u”. Over the light years of distance, the lovers yearn for each other. The clip features cinematography by Jordan McNeile, with Todd Tucker, best known for working on the Pirates Of the Caribbean (The Curse Of The Black Pearl) and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, providing makeup. Visual effects were composited by Lucas Hull, who had previously worked on The Avengers, The Wolverine, and Star Trek Into Darkness.
