John and Edward Grimes have had a strong female following right from the earliest days, and this continues to the present time, with the majority of their fandom made up of girls and women.
Now the Dublin twins are looking for love, and have enlisted the help of new MTV show, ‘Single AF’ (Single. Available. Famous), where the pair will be joining other celebs on a worldwide quest to find their perfect match.
The programme starts on June 26 and features an international cast including Geordie Shore’s Marnie Simpson, YouTuber Elliot Crawford, and Casey Johnson, formerly of Union J, all from the UK; Australian drag artist, Courtney Act; Farrah Abraham, from the US, who rose to the public consciousness via the series ‘Teen Mom’; and of course, Jedward, from Ireland.
Kerry Taylor, CMO Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) & SVP, Youth & Music, MTV International, told Found Remote,
“We’ll be following the cast for two weeks around the world, an experience that will be captured and broadcast exclusively on digital – with content produced throughout that will make up part of the events that will unfold in the linear show later this year.”
The celebrities will be liaising with their fans on social media, seeking their opinion on who to date, and at the end of two weeks travelling, will take their top choice to a villa in Europe, where the whole group will spend time together.
“Social media has changed everything about our personal experiences from the way we consume media to the way we perceive people, including increasingly how our audience dates. It makes sense to integrate social platforms into the ‘Single AF’ journey that our daters will experience, because that’s naturally where they already are. We are constantly experimenting with formats and new ways to involve our fans in our content at MTV International, and think this will be a fun approach that lets them weigh in directly (or appear on the show themselves!).”
‘Single AF’ is produced by Gobstopper TV.
