HOLDN Watches Us ‘BURN’ With Debut Solo Single

Enigmatic dark pop artist HOLDN yesterday released her debut single, ‘BURN’, along with a music video. Unleashing an infectious yet smooth synth-pop sound, the singer provides listeners with an insight into HOLDN, the alter ego of Gina Petro.

Speaking of the single, HOLDN says:

“‘BURN’ was and always will be one of the most special songs I have ever written. I had over 100 demos that I needed to sift through to narrow it down to the first song I would release to this world. During that process, my grandparents came over for a visit one afternoon that I was sitting in my basement sifting through demos. I invited my pop-pop downstairs to listen to some of the demos I had set aside for myself to listen to that day and after going through a few of the demos, ‘BURN’ came up. He stopped me from changing it and told me how much he loved it and made me play it again. Just a few short months later, my pop-pop unfortunately passed away. ‘BURN’ is about someone walking out of my life without warning and that person staying within close enough proximity to watch me struggle to stand back up while they continue on as if my pain was non-existent.”

From New York City, HOLDN brings honesty and emotion, alongside a brimful of unapologetic wit and good humour to her songs, while at the same time drawing you in with her siren call of haunting melody. HOLDN has previously performed in the alt-rock sphere, singing at festivals such as Vans Warped Tour, Skate and Surf Festival, and stages across the US including Webster Hall, and Starland Ballroom.

‘BURN’ is available to download from iTunes. Find HOLDN online on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
