Minneapolis Band Meridian Incident Release New Single ‘Yellow Wings’

Minneapolis based Meridian Incident take inspiration from the greats of prog rock in the release of their latest single, ‘Yellow Wings’.

Taken from their forthcoming concept album, ‘Istology’, ‘Yellow Wings’ is a bittersweet narrative centred on the album’s heroine, Janey. The album follows her journey through life, a girl who has suffered abuse as a child, and who embarks on a path of self-discovery. Including spiritual imagery, ‘Istology’ tracks Janey’s voyage of discovery, plagued by shadows of self-destruction and loathing. Eventually she comes to a place of understanding, and learns to overcome, to love, to trust.

‘Yellow Wings’ is matched with a video narrating Janey’s experience. She is already set on a path of self-destruction: still an angel, her wings are now yellowed by the disastrous route she has chosen through life. Cutting between the band’s performance and scenes in Janey’s life, the video conveys the sadness and hopelessness experienced by someone who knows they’re going the wrong way, but is powerless to change direction.

‘Istology’ is set for release in February. You can find out more about Meridian Incident from their official website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Soundcloud.
