rumjig

Rumjig, currently located in Liverpool, find their inspiration in a variety of artists and have as their “soul” intention to “uplift and ignite people’s lust for life”. The band has released their debut, self-titled album.

Rumjig’s sound is a fusion of jazz, funk, gypsy, soul, ska, blues you name it they’ve absorbed it to good effect – in parts reminiscent of 1920s style music, heavy on brass and strings, and bearing more than a passing resembling to electro swing. The overall affect is an album of foot-tapping, earwormy tunes, which will have the listener nodding their head in time to the music.

The band Crowd Funded the album and raised a total of £5500 in just 55 days, back in late 2012. Their eponymous album has been a labour of love and a work in progress for the past three and a half years, but it will finally be released on December 2, following an album launch gig at The Magnet, Liverpool, on November 25. For more details about Rumjig, their album, and their album launch, see their Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Soundcloud, and official website.
