Daisy Victoria – ‘Animal Lover’

Daisy Victoria

With a sound that’s something between PJ Harvey and Kate Bush, and yet tinged with country and rock, Daisy Victoria has released her latest track, ‘Animal Lover’, which has so far seen her get some airplay on BBC Radio 6.

Since releasing her debut EP, ‘Heart Full Of Beef’ back in March 2014, Daisy Victoria, who describes herself as “a socially anxious songwriter who lives in a Suffolk wood with her six chickens and OCD”, has won many fans with her stunningly beautiful vocals, accompanied by a thrashing rock instrumental. Her new video for ‘Animal Lover’, directed by Cherry Kino, is a visually compelling piece, made on a Super8 camera, giving the clip a 60s over saturated feel.

Cherry Kino is an all-analogue artist filmmaker, whose work has been presented at Alchemy, Leeds, and the Edinburgh Film Festival.

‘Animal Lover’ is the title track to Daisy’s new EP, released on August 19, and takes the listener on a surreal journey through her imagination.

We’ll be reviewing Daisy’s ‘Animal Lover’ EP over the next week. Daisy Victoria will be performing at the John Peel Centre, BBC Introducing Showcase, at Stowmarket, on 23 September.
