We caught up again with The Germein Sisters as part of their European tour. The South Australian trio did a special showcase gig at Camden’s Lock Tavern, and we were lucky enough to have a chat with them before the show.

We interviewed Georgia, Ella and Clara this time last year, and so it was lovely to catch up with them and find out what they’ve been up to in the past year. We’d not seen them perform before, and so it was fantastic to see the sisters do their thing live – their performance is both energetic and vibrant, and they get the audience involved in clapping, clicking, and just generally having a good time.

Opening up with ‘City Lights’, they started as they meant to continue, fast paced and friendly. This led into talk about the new songs they were showcasing, which includes their next single, ‘One Hundred Years’. The Germein Sisters treated us then to a very funky cover of Justin Bieber’s song, ‘Sorry’, before another new song, ‘I Wish I Could Fly’, which Georgia explained she wrote about not letting people put you down, to not let them stop you doing what you want to do.

Their gorgeous sibling harmonies were in evidence, as they finished up their set with another song from their upcoming new album, before mentioning that they were going to be playing at the Isle of Wight festival.

Pete Gardiner performed support, and it was great to see him live again, as the last time we’d seen him in concert was at 2015s Total Access Live. He put on a great show, and left us wanting more, we can’t wait to see him again.
