Cold Summer Heat Up Winter With New Single Release

Cold Summer 3

Leeds 4 piece Cold Summer are an energetic post-hardcore band, who write experimental melodic rock with a twist. Their music, blending a bitter sweet ambience with angst and raw passion, is a direct result of their punk and hardcore roots, and has seen them supporting Funeral For A Friend, Polar, and Defense Family, among others.

Cold Summer formed in 2011 and have maintained a strong DIY work ethic, self-releasing two EPs, ‘Transitions’, and ‘Wake’ in 2012, and a self-titled album in 2013. They spent 2015 working on new material, with their latest release, ‘Fight To Survive’, their most refined and anger-driven music to date.

Cold Summer 1

Last Friday, 19th February Cold Summer released their latest single, ‘A Time Imagination Forgot To Inspire’. An angst-ridden song, spitting out despair at the state of the world, “I’m not seeing a change”, it’s at once musically complex and yet eminently listenable. The raw – often screamed – vocals, further convey the feelings of angst and disappointment. Cold Summer don’t hold back on their opinions, and this is a good thing.
