The Hummingbirds – ‘Out of the Rain’

The Hummingbirds 1

Following the release of their EP by the same name, Liverpool band The Hummingbirds have released the video for the lead track, ‘Out of the Rain’.

With influences from their hometown’s musical heritage (you can almost hear the ghost of John Lennon in the voice of lead singer, Joe Smithson, not to mention the harmonica), The Hummingbirds create their own contemporary melodies, with hook-laden choruses, harmonies and Americana tinged acoustic guitar riffs. ‘Out of the Rain’ is a music video with a difference. Starting out like they’re doing a last minute rehearsal before recording the real thing, you realise this is actually the video – we watch the band set up their instruments and put their jackets on – all the while giving it their all. The aspect is a good one – the camera is set on a dolly giving the viewer a 3D look at the band.
