The Essential Weekly Playlist of: Brett Randell

THE ESSENTIAL WEEKLY PLAYLIST

Singer/songwriter Brett Randell has been all over the place. Starting out in New York, he moved on to Austin, Texas, and now finds himself based in Denver, Colorado. He has additionally toured the US and Europe several times over the past 6 years – somehow also finding time to record 3 CDs, in between playing over 300 shows.

Grabbing his guitar, a backpack, and a one-way ticket to Florence, Brett spent 6 months travelling around the Mediterrantean, with no particular plan apart from playing music and meeting all types of people. During this time he worked on vineyards in Italy and farms in Turkey; he thumbed rides across Europe, and played music everywhere went – from rooftops in Istanbul, to ancient Croatian streets. From the seaside in Olympos, to radio stations in Athens. He even ‘roughed it’ (NOT) in pubs and on houseboats in London.

All the while, Brett was absorbing. His travels inspired the songs for his new EP, ‘Rise’. Recorded  at Mighty Fine Productions in Denver, CO and Congress House Studio in Austin, TX, and features musicians from both cities. ‘Rise’ was recorded and mixed by Xandy Whitesel in Denver, who’s worked with Bon Iver, and mastered by Robin Schmidt in Germany (Ben Howard).

Brett’s music has an emphasis on stories, lyrics, and catchy melodies, and his clear and powerful voice brings with it emotion and high energy.
