Bradford singer songwriter Premaura has established herself on the local pop music scene, with performances at Live At Leeds, and Pub In The Park among her accolades. Now she’s released her debut EP, ‘Ascension Pt 1’, which a four-track record which came about after the artist had a spiritual awakening.
Ryan Swain, originally from England’s north got his start at Flamingo Land Resort as a “coat-style” entertainer. He’s amassed a very respectable 200,000 followers across his social media profiles, as well as a commendable 10 million streams on his comedy videos, which focus on everyday life, parenting, and mental health.
Born into a Cantonese speaking family, Le Fil learned English by singing along to a pop music diet of Bros and Kylie Minogue. Originally from Huddersfield, Yorkshire, but now based in Peckham, South London, the singer songwriter and artist has established himself on the underground culture circuit, with his blend of dark pop, provocative performance art, and striking sculptures, which focus on identity and gender politics.
Regular readers of Essentially Pop will remember their striking cover of David Bowie’s ‘Ashes To Ashes’, which they recorded exclusively for us in the wake of Bowie’s death in January. Since then the five-piece from Yorkshire have released their EP, ‘Ghosts’, with their most recent single being the haunting, ‘Horror Show’. We spoke with lead singer, Molly Anna.
