HANS ZIMMER RELEASES FIRST EVER BOND SCORE (ON HER MAJESTY’S DECCASERVICE)

Following last night’s captivating performance by Grammy-winners Billie Eilish and Hans Zimmer at the BRIT Awards, Decca Records announces the release of Zimmer’s first ever Bond score: the official soundtrack to the latest film in the James Bond saga, No Time To Die (2020). Released globally on 27 March 2020, the soundtrack promises high drama, glamour and, of course, the famous Bond “suspense” motif.

Heron – ‘Splashdown’

On first listening to ‘Splashdown’ by Heron, I’m reminded of Joe Satriani’s track, ‘Always With Me, Always With You’, from his breakthrough 1987 album, ‘Surfing With The Alien’. There’s also elements that suggest Mark Knopfler’s ‘Going Home’, from the film ‘Local Hero’. There’s maybe even a hint of Tommy Emmanuel there. None of this is to suggest Heron’s piece is derivative, but rather, it’s an indication of the incredible quality of the track.
