Award-winning composer, artist and musician Isobel Waller-Bridge announces her new signing to Mercury KX. Joining artists at the forefront of contemporary music, including Anoushka Shankar, Ólafur Arnalds and Keaton Henson, Isobel also releases her new track ‘September’, which will feature on the new compilation album ‘FLOW’ – a celebration of three years since the launch of Mercury KX.
Nigerian artist Demola isn’t afraid to do things differently and to mix it up when it comes to his music. Although his usual style is Afrobeat, for his latest single, ‘Light Up’, the unmistakeable sound of a violin turns up mere seconds into the track. It shouldn’t work: the rhythm is a full on bounce, buoyant and packed full of sunshine; the violin is breezy, and cool – like a walk through a forest. It shouldn’t work – but somehow – it does.
Two of the world’s greatest voices in classical music, Aled Jones, and Russell Watson, have today released their debut single, ‘Where Have All The Flowers Gone/Here’s To The Heroes’. The track comes ahead of their album, ‘In Harmony’, set for release this Friday, as well as the announcement of tour dates.
