Fiona Grey Releases Black Mirror Inspired Video for ‘Sick of It’

Songstress Fiona Grey has recently dropped her highly creative music video for her single “Sick of It.” The video is now available to view via YouTube below.

The singer has used her music video to express how she feels about how he contemporary beauty myth is a toxic illusion that is being sold to us. She is shining a light on an issue that all of us should be taking seriously. In order to do this, she was inspired by the Netflix series “Black Mirror.” We see a sci-fi aspect which helps demonstrate the point that she is making. It gets your brain ticking, and you can help but feel completely absorbed by the colourful yet troubling scenes you see before you.

When talking about the track, Fiona Grey explains;

“‘Sick Of It’ was inspired by the modern fixation with unrealistic beauty standards and our obsession with looking like an idealized version of perfection.” says Grey. “Selfies are not inherently bad, but there is so much pressure on us to present ourselves as flawless on the surface that we can lose sight of who we really are. I realized that I fall victim to it as much as anyone else, and I wanted to provoke a dialogue about it by creating this video. Hopefully by showing myself in a vulnerable light I can inspire others to accept the beauty in themselves.”

The single itself is a catchy, upbeat track that is bound to get trapped inside your mind for weeks to come. After the first listen, you will find yourself humming the tune to yourself whilst walking down the street. It’s a hard song to shrug off and get out of your system, but that’s okay because the song is just that good, you really don’t mind.

“Sick of It” was produced by Grammy-award winner MNDR, and is now available to stream everywhere on all major streaming platforms. It’s a song that is a mandatory add to your playlist!

Fiona Grey is an LA-based singer-songwriter that has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry including Charli XCX, Foals, and KITTEN, to name a few. When performing live, the audience is in awe of her theatrics, visual concepts and lyrics that explore a culture under everchanging beauty standards. By exploring these issues within in her lyrics, she hopes that listeners look deeper and take them more seriously, whilst also entertaining them with her catchy beats.

She’s a singer that you won’t regret supporting, so be sure to follow her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for more updates!
