Bobby Murray Releases Debut Single, ‘Moonrock’

Out tomorrow, July 9, ‘Moonrock’ is the debut single from R&B songwriter, Bobby Murray. Moody and atmospheric, the single serves as a taste of what is to come from his upcoming EP.

While having a base in hip hop, with trap beats, ‘Moonrock’ probably has closer links to Billie Eilish, with Bobby Murray’s breathy, dreamy vocals layered over a bed of somewhat unsettling synths.

The single sees Murray explore covert aggression, and the journey that you might find yourself on through drugs. The heavy synths give Murray the chance to showcase his lifelong piano talents, while his in-depth musical knowledge is given centre stage with his creative hip hop innovation.

Bobby Murray cites Stevie Wonder as his primary influence, and this can be heard in both his vocals and instrumental arrangements. Additionally, he has been inspired by the likes of Tyler, The Creator and A$AP Rocky.

You can pre-save ‘Moonrock’ here.
