Rising songstress, Maisie Peters, has recently shared her brand-new single “Funeral” – which features the wonderful James Bay. The track is now available to stream via all major streaming platforms!
“Funeral” is a beautiful, heartfelt ballad that will be featured on the soundtrack for “Trying: Season 2” – a Apple TV+ Original Series. This dream collaboration will be performing the song for the first time on The Late Late Show with James Corden tonight, Monday, May 10th. A performance that you truly don’t want to miss!
The track was written by Maisie Peters herself, and had the help from producer Joe Rube, who has worked with the likes of Ed Sheeran and L Devine. By adding James Bay into the mix, they were able to perfectly create a wonderful masterpiece that is bound to make you feel all the feels. The best songs ever made are the ones that can make you feel the most. “Funeral” definitely belongs on that long list. Their vocals blend together so perfectly, it was like they were made for this song and this song only.
When talking about being on the official soundtrack for “Trying”, Maisie explains;
“Being asked to make a whole soundtrack was a huge challenge as I’d never done anything like that before, but it was super interesting to me, so, I said ‘yes.’ Having spoken with Jim [O’Hanlon] and reading all the scripts, I started piecing it together with Joe [Rubel] and we wrote the bulk of it in two months last winter over FaceTime. Building the universe was so fun, and it was really special getting to collaborate with James, Griff, and Bear’s Den, as I’ve been big fans of them most of my life.”
“Funeral” is followed by her previous single “John Hughes Movie,” which saw success after finding a place at No. 1 on iTunes the weekend of release, was playlisted across BBC Radio 1 and 2, and has been streamed over 8.5 million times globally to date.
