Belle Eve Releases Debut Single, ‘I Gotta’

‘I Gotta’ is the debut single from Isab Velasquez, who sings under the name of Belle Eve. The track is set for release on March 5, and can be pre-saved here.

With sultry, languid vocals, Belle Eve sings of being caught up in the motions of unintentionally hurting someone you love, and is an exploration in the power of our words, and what we do, and don’t say. The song began as a freestyle track for the singer songwriter, who says,

“Even though we hold no control over other people and their emotions, we still hold so much power in our words and actions to either destroy or nurture one another. ‘I Gotta’ also evokes both the melancholy and acceptance that comes with losing a relationship.”

Belle Eve’s vocal harmonies weave in and out of the funky riffs and groovy bass lines of the soulful instrumental. It’s clear that the artist is no novice when it comes to performing, and in fact, she has played her local live music scene with the jazz-influenced band, Extrapolation. It’s at this time that Belle Eve first tried out songwriting, with the single, ‘Ghost’, making it onto Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” playlist last year. She had previously provided vocals for the band’s singles, ‘Sunshine Blue’ (released in 2017), and ‘Shot In The Dark’, in 2019. ‘I Gotta’ shows that Belle Eve has what it takes, and she’s sure to go far.
