Griffith Frank “You’ll Be There”

Griffith Frank is an acclaimed artist, and has also distinguished himself as a composer, writing songs for the likes of Kendall K, Annie Leblanc, and Jojo Siwa among others, with his compositions being collectively streamed more than a billion times. His knack for incredible melody, and adept lyricism are evident in everything he does, and no less so than in his new single, ‘You’ll Be There’.

Additionally, it’s his talent for grappling with emotional complexity, and his ability to make that resonate with his audience, that ensures his appeal. On the surface, his work appears to be quite straightforward, but a few listens reveals the thoughtful nuances in his writing.

Griffith Frank is also gifted with a clear, smooth, and welcoming voice, that allows him to share with candour, incisiveness, and depth of feeling. His range is incredible; a lower register is imposingly deep and full, while his falsetto reaches for the stars. Both are in evidence in ‘You’ll Be There’, his stunning performance carrying the piano ballad.

The music video, directed by Kaitlyn Fae, shows Griffith Frank for what he is, an expert storyteller, as well as a friendly, approachable vocalist. We see him at his grand piano, in action, often overwhelmed by force of feeling, while the room is filled with candles, and fairy lights. Between shots of Frank, we’re shown three characters: a young woman who is consumed by the death of a loved one, another who is seeking the help of a friend in her battle with despair, and a passer by who lacks compassion for the situation of a homeless man. All three fight with their pain, their discontent, and rise above it, and the narrative threads are resolved before the end of the video, with Griffith Frank’s beautiful song appropriately providing the theme for their life journeys.
