Ayoka Seeks To ‘Elevate’ The World With New Single From Debut Album ‘Venus’

Los Angeles artist Ayoka has been singing since childhood, and was raised on a musical diet that included Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Tupac, and Sade. An active astrologer and spiritualist, her music tends undeniably in that direction, and her 2021 vision includes mastering her music, along with healing the universe, as well as those around her. Ayoka’s new single, ‘Elevate’, comes from her debut album, ‘Venus’, which is a deep dive into her interests, accessing the innermost workings of her mind.

Speaking of the album to V13 Magazine, Ayoka says,

“Venus really encapsulates around ten years of different versions of who I’ve been, who I am, and what I strive to achieve in love and relationships.”

‘Elevate’ is the album’s lead single, and it sees Ayoka introduce her moody and yet enchanting aura, through a relationship that is failing. Neither party can get away from it fully however, and in the video we see Ayoka teasing her love interest, imploring them to do better, and to improve himself. Her emerald silk dress shimmers seductively, and she entices the camera with mesmerising eye contact. Smooth vocals are layered over top of a compelling dance beat, and she evokes the very meaning of her name, which is derived from the Yoruba language, and means “one who causes joy”. Naturally, her love interest is unable to resist her charms, despite all his best efforts.
