Peppermint Heaven Challenge Us To ‘Look In The Mirror’ With New Single Out Today

‘Look In The Mirror’ is the latest single from Peppermint Heaven, a duo we’ve been championing for the past five years now. Listening to the new track, we’re not about to stop waving the flag for them anytime soon either.

It’s a reflective song, and that goes way beyond the title. ‘Look In The Mirror’ is the final track to be shared from their upcoming EP, and it ends on a high note what has been a difficult year for everyone, including the LA based duo. So long as we are still there for them, they will be there for us:

“look in the mirror what do you see there

look in the mirror tell me you’ll be there

look in the mirror together we’ll be there”

Peppermint Heaven’s sound is touted as being for fans of Simple Minds, Empire Of The Sun, and Tame Impala – but with ‘Look In The Mirror’ we’re getting  something else, it’s less disco, a laid back, lower tempo, more suburban tropical sound, to coin a phrase – than their previous releases.

That’s not to say that Juno and Spark have completely thrown off their usual synth-pop, indie-retro style; it’s still very much Peppermint Heaven, and there’s still the crisp, well-polished production that we’ve come to know and love. On the contrary, it feels as though the pair are standing on the precipice of something greater – if this slightly different vibe is anything to go by. They’ve certainly found their niche within the music community, and their music is nothing but quality, and their fans have come to know and love this. ‘Look In The Mirror’ however, is the most contemporary song I’ve ever heard from Peppermint Heaven – if you’d told me that this was something by Brendon Urie, I’d not think twice.

Peppermint Heaven’s upcoming EP, ‘New Sensation’ is set for release next year. Listen to ‘Look In The Mirror’ below:
