Celest Lamberti Releases Debut Single, ‘Braindead’

Laid back, languid vocals, reminiscent of Lana del Rey, or Nancy Sinatra, and having a soulful, almost rootsy edge, ‘Braindead’ is the debut single from singer songwriter Celest Lamberti. The single is out today, December 4, and can be streamed and downloaded here.

The instrumental track backing the vocals is a skilful blend of fluid guitar textures and warm synths, with a groove that will get your feet moving.

Celest’s usual lyrical style is vague and abstract, but for this single she chose instead to focus her lyrics so they remained uncomplicated, and their beauty shines through.

Speaking of the track she said,

“The song encapsulates the idea of stripping yourself away from societal expectations and inner emotional battles”.

18 year old Celest Lamberti is based in London, and her songs are a colourful, and often psychedelic, soul-searching experience, with the sound reflecting her Latinx and Italian heritage. Beyond her own solo material, Celest also heads the band, Blue Psyche, whose music combines shoe-gaze reverb with 70s prog rock, and a Latin style groove, a la The Doors. She is a multi-instrumentalist and producer, and has had professional music training from a young age.

‘Braindead’ is the first of many upcoming releases from Celest, with the next set to drop in January.
