Three years after they staged one of the most successful comebacks of the decade, enduring British pop legends Steps – aka H, Claire, Faye, Lee and Lisa – return once again with their sixth album, What the Future Holds, out 27th November, via BMG, and a huge arena tour across the UK and Ireland in November / December 2021. The five-piece have so far revealed two singles, What The Future Holds and Something In Your Eyes, as well as previous instant grat, Under My Skin. They now premiere their fourth track from the album, Hold My Heart, available to stream and download on all digital platforms and instantly available on iTunes for fans who have preordered the album. Hold My Heart can be listened to here.

Steps - Hold My Heart (Official Audio)

Hold My Heart was written by up and coming Swedish pop writers, Robin Stjernberg and Isa Molin and is a stunning ballad that shows another side to the band. Speaking of the track, Steps said,

“We all instantly fell in love with ‘Hold My Heart’ the first time we heard it.  It’s a proper classic Steps ballad with amazing harmonies.  We all got quite emotional recording it in the studio.  It has a bit of a Lady A vibe to it and it really shows the mature side of the new album. While we all love an up-tempo banger, and there are PLENTY on the album, we wanted to show the opposite side to ‘Something In Your Eyes’ with this latest teaser track.”

The track follows current single, Something In Your Eyes (watch the video here) which celebrates the fun and classic sound of Steps with its ABBA-esque chorus, incredible key change and staggered outro. Something In Your Eyes is currently on the B List at Radio 2 and is quickly rising up the charts. First single from the album, What The Future Holds, was written by pop queen Sia and quickly hit the top spot of the iTunes chart and is approaching 1 million streams on Spotify. The video can be viewed here.

The What The Future Holds album will be available on all digital platforms plus CD, Vinyl (including a limited edition transparent pink edition) and Cassette (including a special collector’s box with five separate transparent pink solo cassettes with an intro from each band member). The album can be preordered now from the Steps Superstore here.

Steps have also announced their sure-to-be epic What The Future Holds 2021 Tour headlining 14 arena shows across the UK including The O2 in London. Steps will be joined on the tour by the brilliant Sophie Ellis-Bextor as special guest. Tickets are selling fast and are on sale now here.

Launching during the halcyon days of pop in 1997 with their line-dancing classic 5,6,7,8, Brit award winners Steps set about re-turfing the music landscape via 14 UK top 10 singles and three multi-platinum albums in three years including #1’s Tragedy and Stomp. Fast forward twenty years, the band returned with the mighty Tears On The Dancefloor, which hit #1 on the physical and iTunes album charts and went Gold within a matter of weeks, becoming the second biggest-selling independent album of 2017 behind Stormzy. Their subsequent ‘Party On The Dancefloor’ tour saw the band sell out twenty-two arenas. 23 years on from their debut, 2020 sees them return with What The Future Holds.
