Snypa – ‘All Night’

While technically hip-hop has its origins in the US, it’s been crafted from sounds and lyrical styles from all over the world. These days Hip-hop is truly an international musical genre, with artists now coming from all corners of the globe, united in their life struggles and desire to share from their hearts. In turn, these international practitioners have incorporated their own local sounds, creating sub-genres, such as Grime, Garage, and so on.

SNYPA, with latest single and video, ‘All Night’, understands this extra-nationality of hip-hop. His sound is effectively a united nations, drawing into itself elements from the sounds of North American, Caribbean, European, and pan-African hip-hop: it’s a trip around the world in 3 minutes.

The music video for ‘All Night’ sees SNYPA hold sway in a club, bright and colourful, rapping with that sort of confidence that feels like it comes naturally, but is surely a long-practiced art form. Although surrounded on all sides by beautiful women, SNYPA never once drops his air of effortless cool. Co-directed by both SNYPA and The Picture Man, the clip pays homage to the international nature of the track by including a belly dancer – and it works too.

Additionally, the clothes worn in the video cross between cultures and styles, and everyone looks incredible, working to make it a party that you won’t want to have missed.
